First Year: Advanced Engineering Design: HT3S0AY2

Year long course/1.0 credit per semester

This course will provide students the opportunity to learn computer software applications used in a variety of engineering and technical fields. This course develops the process of engineering thought and application of the design process by producing working drawings, solid model renderings, and prototypes.

Articulated courses offered in conjunction with El Paso Community College:

  • Advanced Engineering Design is articulated to DFTG 1409 (Basic CAD).  

Second Year: Practicum STEM 1: HT4S0AY2

Year long course/1.0 credit per semester

This practicum is designed to give students supervised practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experience.

Articulated courses offered in conjunction with El Paso Community College:

  • Practicum STEM 1 is articulated to DFTG 1433 Mechanical Drafting
  • Practicum STEM 1 is articulated to DFTG 2432 Advanced Computer-Aided Drafting

Certification

Second year students may challenge the Autodesk Industry Certification. The cost of this exam is $50 each.
