First Year: Telecommunications & Networking 1: HT3K20Y2

Students will develop knowledge and skills related to telecommunications and data networking technologies. This course prepares students for Comp TIA’s Network+ Certification. This certification is an international certification that proves a technician’s competency in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and configuring basic network infrastructure.

Second Year: Telecommunications & Networking 2: HT4K20Y2

Year long course/1.0 credit per semester

Students will develop concepts and skills related to all aspects of security from physical and network security to operating system and social engineering. This course prepares students for Comp TIA’s Security+ Certification. This is an international certification that proves competency in system security, network infrastructure, access control and organizational security. This certification is part of Microsoft’s MCSE pathway.

Certification

First year students may challenge the Comp TIA’s Network+ Certification. The cost of this certification exam is $118. Second year students may challenge the Comp TIA’s Security+ Certification. The cost of this certification exam is $165.
